Graduation Rates

One indicator of a school's performance is its graduation rate. Use both sets of graduation rates below to see the percentage of students who graduated at a specific public school.

  1. See how your school compares to the rest of the US>>  (Class of 2005)
The first set comes from Education Week, which is considered newspaper of record for education issues. Since each state calculates its graduation rate differently, the US Department of Education allows Education Week to take the raw data reported by every public school and calculate each state's graduation rate using the same formula. Education Week’s graduation rate includes 9th - 12th graders and shows the likelihood that 9th graders will finish high school with a standard diploma.

  2. See how your school compares to the rest of Utah>>  (Class of 2007) Link opens a PDF.
The second set comes from the latest report by the Utah State Office of Education on Utah's graduation rate.  Unlike Education Week's graduation rate, the USOE's cannot be used to compare Utah to the rest of the U.S. since each state calculates its graduation rate differently. The USOE's graduation rate tracks 10th - 12th graders and shows the percentage of 10th graders who do not drop out before September 30th of the year their class graduates high school.

Reading at Grade Level

Another indicator of a school's performance is how well its students read at grade level. Utah annually assesses the percentage of students in each public school who read at grade level. Reports from these assessments are available from 2004 through 2006.
