Children First Utah (CFU) was organized in response to the hopelessness thousands of low-income families face when their children are trapped in schools that are failing them. CFU believes that every family, regardless of financial circumstance, needs access to a quality education tailored to their children’s needs. Many public schools cannot meet this ideal and low-income families have no affordable alternatives. CFU offers tuition assistance to low-income families in Utah, empowering concerned parents with educational options for their children.
COSTS
Children First Utah awards scholarships for one-half of the total tuition amount up to $1800 per year. Parents are responsible for paying the remaining tuition and other costs. Some private schools also have additional scholarships for low-income families.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
New scholarships are awarded to low-income families for students in grades K-8. Once in the program, students are eligible to continue receiving scholarship money through high school. To see if your family qualifies, please refer to the Children First Utah Income Table.
HOW TO ENROLL
Eligible students must first fill out an application. Qualified applications are placed into a random drawing. The number of scholarships provided each year is based on funding. If you are selected, you may use the scholarship at the school of your choice.
